Term 1, 2017 - Wrap Up

Year 1 and 2

The Year 1's and 2's have had a great start to the year! We have been focusing on developing skills through exploring the musical elements of rhythm and pitch. Students have listened and responded to music through movement and play, and have learned to use notation to share their music ideas.

We have had a lot of fun learning to play songs on the xylophones and I am looking forward to exploring music further next term.

Year 3 and 4

They Year 3 and 4 classes have been exploring the concepts of tempo and dynamics whilst continuing to develop their aural and theory skills. We have improvised with rhythm patterns to compose and perform music in small groups on a variety of percussion instruments.

The Year 3's and 4's have worked hard this term and demonstrated their enthusiasm in the music classroom. Well done!

Year 5 and 6

They year 5's and 6's have worked diligently in an intensive music program that has continued to develop their skills in music theory and performance. Students have been learning about using standard notation on the treble stave to communicate their music ideas, as well as performing as an ensemble to develop technique and skill on various classroom percussion instruments. Great work!
